This reflective and complex story examines two very different families living in the Carlton Housing commission flats. The film revolves around Reuben and Hari and their complex relationships with their fathers.

The talented Kristina Lesjak collaborates with Gen 2 years after her first appearance as the powerful leading actor in Gen and Jarrah Gurrie's short film INDI. Kristina was aged 6 when Indi was shot and edited in und 15 hours for the 15/15 Film Festival in 2004, where it was awarded Best Film, Best Directors, Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Editing and Best Actor for Kristina. Indi went on to screen Internationally with great success. Tina and Reuben's father is played by Andrew S Gilbert (Rabbit Proof Fence, Look Both Ways, Ned Kelly). Sree Devi Arunagiri acts in both English and Tamal alongside her real son Hari, aged 5, who also appears in Lemon Ani.
